CatDV LTO-5/LTFS Archiving

DNA Evolution provides one of the fastest and most tightly integrated ways to archive CatDV assets to LTO-5 and LTFS. It enables a direct-connect infrastructure (rather than network based) for archiving and restore speeds that are 4x faster at over 1.2 Gb/sec. It is integrated directly into the CatDV interface for archiving, status and restoring. It also allows you to restore intelligently from multiple applications (Avid, FCP7) and to multiple locations – not just the source of where the content came from.

4x Faster Archives and Restores

DNA Evolution integrates LTO tape drives and LTO libraries directly over SAS or FC. Paired with DNA Evolution’s ability to maximize performance, you can see 4x faster transfers (*) at over 1.2 Gb/sec.

*4x faster compared to network based deployments.

Simple Web URL to Monitor Progress

DNA Evolution’s web driven interface allows your end users to monitor their archiving and restore progress simply by visiting a web url.

Search and Find Tapes from CatDV

DNA Evolution updates the CatDV database with details such as LTO tape ID, checksum etc. This allows an end user to perform a search within CatDV and know exactly which tape their media is sitting on.

Archive from CatDV – Restore from Avid, FCP7

DNA Evolution supports Avid and FCP7 based sequence, bin and clip restores. So media archived to DNA Evolution via CatDV can be restored from Avid or FCP7 simply by providing DNA Evolution an AAF or XML or the sequence or bin that needs to be restored.
